Rev. Odell Watson was born in Jamaica and is a product Miami Dade County's Gifted Program. Upon graduating from Miami Norland Senior High, he attended the University of Florida and earned his Bachelors degree in Sociology. Continuing his education, he would go on to earn two Masters degrees from the University of Florida in Educational Leadership and Social Science Education. Rev. Watson has earned a third Masters degree at Asbury Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL. Rev. Watson is in the initial stages of pursuing a Doctors of Ministry degree.
Rev. O. Watson is married to the Reverend Lateria Watson and is the father of Alyssa, Caleb, and new born baby Isabella Watson. Rev. Watson is a former public educator who has taught in Floridas public school system for six years. He has had the privilege to serve as a pastor in the African Methodist Episcopal church for the past eight years and currently serves as the Senior Pastor of New Bethel A.M.E. Church in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
Rev. Watson serves the African Methodist Episcopal church in various capacities. He is the Dean of the Orlando District Board of Examiners. As a member of the Central Conference Board of Examiners, Rev. Watson teaches Biblical Survey to first year ministerial candidates. He serves on the 11th Episcopal District's Board of Christian Education, as well as the districts Evangelism committee.
Rev. Watson serves as the spiritual advisor to the University of Central Florida's Gospel Choir.
The Rev. Lateria Watson received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Florida in 2002. She continued her education at the University of Florida earning a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Specialist degree in Mental Health Counseling. She is also a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary earning a Masters of Divinity degree.
